::: RUNNING RIOT RECORDS :::

BRAND NEW NEWS :

(groups.yahoo.com/group/rrrdistro)

09/07 ::: Running Riot Records is DEAD. I mean, it has been for a while now but I thought I may as well put something up here about it. I'm going to be selling everything off really cheap soon enough so be sure to check back at the end of the month. Something new has risen from its ashes, though: Ooosh! - be sure to check it out and get involved. Soon...

2006:

26/12 ::: ACK ACK ACK 12" EP: It's not released by us, but we're involved; these guys did the dirty. It has six songs on it and has hand-screened sleeves. You can hear one of the songs here (this is an unmastered version so it sounds a little different to the one on the record). If you'd like one, send six pounds (including hand delivery by a Royal Mail employee) to Jon Wood, 96 Whippingham Road, Brighton, BN2 3PG, or paypal six pounds and twenty pence to jon [at] runningriotrecords [dot] co [dot] uk. For those of you visually inclined, here's a picture:

In other news, we will have a new release out in about a month's time, entitled "My Beercoaster Collection: A Retrospective Of The Worst Demos Recieved". I think the title pretty much explains what it's all about, but it will be a limited edition (fifty) CD-r release with a spectacular cover drawn by the mighty Kai. Until then!

14/11 ::: Well, the Yuchi 7" is finally here! It has four songs (two of which you can hear here), comes in a sexy fold-out colour sleeve and looks a bit like this:

This is a split release with The Oil Penguin in Southend. Copies are available in some decent shops, from the band at gigs, or from our online shop. Go here for more info.

The distro sale is still going, though quite a lot of that list has gone. I'll try and get it updated as soon as possible.

I know I say it every few weeks, but the Ack Ack Ack 12" record is very close to being available! We're screening the sleeves at the moment; almost there! Cheers for the wait!

13/7 ::: After much um-ing and ah-ing I've decided that the distro side of this little project has become more hassle than it's worth, so I'm selling the whole thing off. If you visit the distro page, you'll find a link to a text file containing everything that's left: much has gone already. It's all filthy cheap, so spend away!

1/6 ::: Well, lots of exciting things in the pipeline: Ack Ack Ack's 12" EP is going off to the pressing plant tomorrow so will hopefully be back by the end of the month. There's a release "party" taking place 4th July at the Old Blue Last in London. Stay tuned for more details.
Yuchi's 7" is also on the way out, we're just talking about artwork and other such gubbins then that'll be in the post, too. There's a tour at the end of July nearly booked with fellow brighton ace-ers Everyone To The Anderson. Check the site or the myspace for details.
Finally, we're putting together plans for our next release: it's going to be ace! Plus there's talk of a split 7" series but I don't think that'll happen, in all honesty.

13/3 ::: Ack Ack Ack are off on tour next week! Catch the fun here:

MARCH:
wednesday 22nd - SOUTHAMPTON - King Alfred
thursday 23rd - CARDIFF - clwb ifor bach
friday 24th - BRISTOL - The Junction
saturday 25th - SHEFFIELD - House party! (email jon@runningriotrecords.co.uk if you vant ze details.)
sunday 26th - LEEDS The Cardigan Arms
monday 27th - BIRMINGHAM - Flipper And Firkin
tuesday 28th - LONDON - Tatty Bogles

The EP has been delayed (due to immense slackness on our part), but there's an MP3 for your delectation here.

Also, Yuchi and Sausage Party now have myspaces (I know, I know) where you can not only be their friend but listen to their music. Ace, huh?

2005:

12/12 ::: Alright! Exciting RRR related things that you should be aware of: Ack Ack Ack are recording some songs next week and this will - so long as the recording turns out OK - be released as a 12" EP early 2006. Muchos touring will also follow. Sausage Party are also going to be recording, though this will be more of a rough demo type thing. As ever, there are lots of exciting new things in the distro - restocks of Kill Yourself 7"s as well as the new That Fucking Tank album (which is ace!)
Finally, there are lots of good gigs going on in Brighton soon which you should come to. Yeup.

5/10 ::: Exciting forthcoming musical attractions in October you may wish to be made aware of:
13th at the Freebutt, Brighton - Shooting at Unarmed Men (ex-Mclusky), Blood Red Shoes and Ack Ack Ack; £5, 8pm.
16th at the Engine Rooms, Brighton - Koufax (from America) and Yuchi. £2 or free w/NUS. 8pm-11pm.
20th at the Freebutt, Brighton - Bullet Union, Charlottefield and Yuchi; £4, 8pm
21st at Core Club, Brighton - Partyline (ex-Bratmobile!), The Corey Os, Jenny Wilson and Yuchi: as part of Ladyfest Brighton. £6, 8-2am
25th at LSE, London - Hey Colossus, I'm Being Good, and Sausage Party. ?o'clock, £?

6/9 ::: Hey, just a heads-up: there are a number of flyers / posters out advertising This Aint Vegas, An Emergency and Yuchi as playing the Engine Rooms on the 20th. THIS HAS CHANGED! It's now going to be at Club New York on Thursday 22nd. 9pm-2am with Nascent disco afterwards; all pints £2. £4. Cheers!

22/8 ::: Yo! We have a new release (whoopah!) - the Candy Sniper 7". It's a split release with three other labels, and has two new songs on it; Cuts No Scars and Blood Red Shoes. Each label will release the same 7" but with different artwork; ours isn't quite finished yet but we currently have the tour pressing available now. It's on thick black vinyl and costs just £3 to have one delivered through your letterbox. More information is here.
Also, I've now finally moved house; I know a few people ordered bits from the distro and had to wait a bit longer than usual to recieve them. Sorry about this; I've pretty much settled in though, now, so all should be back to normal! Sling your money / letters this-a way:

26 St Paul's Street
Brighton
BN2 3HR

20/6 ::: Ok, firstly, I'm going to be between houses for a few weeks as of the 30th June: if you post anything to the 12 Canfield Road address, *please* ensure it will get here by then as otherwise I'm not too sure if I'll be able to pick it up. For now, although I'm going to be in Brighton, I guess it's probably best to send stuff to this address:

15 Denver Road
Dartford
Kent
DA1 3LA

Secondly, I have heard rumours that people have been recieving spam mail from the RRR email address. I'm really sorry if this has happened to you: we have virus / anti-spam software installed but it still seems to be getting through. Unless you recieve an email from me, or from the yahoo-group mailing list then it's just bullshit: please just disregard these messages and accept my apologies.
Finally, the Charlottefield LP is in, as is some stuff by Part Chimp, Joeyfat, Papa M, 100 Pets etc.

8/6 ::: I have the Charlottefield album on order, for anyone who's interested. I'm getting 6 copies on vinyl, so be quick as the pressing is limited to 240 copies so I doubt I'd be able to get another order in before they sell out! Also, due to unforeseen commitments, Yuchi will no longer be able to do the whole July tour with Blood Red Shoes. However, we'll still be playing the Camden, Brighton and Liverpool dates, so be sure to come say "hi!" if you live there. Plus I'll be driving the whole tour anyway and will have my distro with me, so be sure to pop along and pick up a bargain...

24/5 ::: Ok, as ever, plenty of exciting new things in the distro from the likes of That Fucking Tank, Monster Killed By Lazer, Grabba Grabba Tape, The Rise etc. Also, Yuchi and Blood Red Shoes are heading out on the road between roughly 9th and 17th July: if you'd like us to play your town, get in touch! Also, Candy Sniper are touring the UK (including Ireland) from the 23rd July to the 5th August. The dates are pretty much all confirmed and I'll post them up here when they're finalised. Ack Ack Ack will probably be out on the road again some time around the end of September (hopefully with the 7" that was supposed to be finished by the time of the last tour!): again, please get in touch if you can help out.
Also, the Itch LP has been getting some great reviews which you can read here if you're interested. And, hey, you should be!

2/4 ::: Yo, just a quick note; I'm away on tour with various bands for the next two weeks so don't be suprised if your orders aren't up to my usual hasty-posting standards. But I will have my distro with me so if I can find a place to pick up my emails and you pay via PayPal, then there's a chance I'll be able to post it out anyway! I'm afraid I don't have the definitive Candy Sniper dates to hand, but here are the Ack Ack Ack tour dates:
(April)
Monday 11th: The Swan, London
Tuesday 12th: Leeds
Wednesday 13th: Edinburgh, w/ Bum Rape
Thursday 14th: Spalding, Lincolnshire
Friday 15th: Leeds, w/ Eagle Eye, Printed Circuit and Brown Owl. At the Common Place.
Saturday 16th: Nottingham

3/2 ::: IMPORTANT: The server that hosts the RRR site - and, by default, the email account - was shut down due to a power failure from the 1st to the 3rd of March. If you PayPaled an order, or sent an email I WILL NOT HAVE RECIEVED IT! Please resend it! Thanks, and apologies.
Anyway, onto more exciting news: the Itch LP is here! Woopah! Sorry that it took a little longer than expected but this was due to a cock-up at the pressing plant; I now have 500 sleeves without the centre hole!* More information, and an MP3, is avilable here. It's on white vinyl, with a nice full-colour sleeve and lyric booklet, and is just £6 including postage from us.

*If anyone would like one (tour edition? ebay gold?) just include an extra 20p with your order to cover extra postage and I'll send you one.

30/1 ::: The Itch masters got sent off last week, so, with any luck, they'll be back here and ready to order within a month. With even more luck, they'll be back in time for their february tour, which looks a little something like this:
09.02 - Liverpool, Barfly
10.02 - Leeds, The Vine
11.02 - Manchester, Satan's Hollow
12.02 - Lincoln, Bivoauc
13.02 - Coventry, Jailhouse
16.02 - Hull, Ringside
18.02 - Coventry, Cottage
19.02 - Brighton, The Hobgoblin, w/ Projections and Ack Ack Ack
24.02 - Leeds, Brudenell Social Club
27.02 - Norwich, TBC

It's going to be on snazzy white vinyl, with a lyrics booklet and a full colour sleeve. The CD version is being done by BSM. The vinyl will be £6ppd. Also, we have some gigs coming up here in Brighton; I've been a bit slack with keeping it up to date; all sorted now! Check here for more.

4/1 ::: Okey fucking dokey... The Christmas Under Cover compilation is now actually, actually finished. Hoorah! Apologies for the delay, but hey; it's here and it's awesome. you can get it now for £4.50 including hand devlivery through your letter box. The A5 booklet is 20 pages long and looks mint, the CDs are handstamped by me, etc. Go here immediately and order one. Remember that all profits from this CD go to the Shelter charity; a worthy cause if there was one, in my opinion.
Labels / distros / shops / fanzines: get in touch for wholesale / trades!
Also, as a 'happy new year' type thing (and to clear some space!) the Candy Sniper CD is now just £5ppd, and the Slingshot Around The Moon 7" just £2.50. Super dooper bargains, eh?

UPCOMING GIGS:

12th January : Cleckhuddersfax, Man Aubergine, and Sausage Party upstairs at the Fringe Bar, Brighton. £donations, 8pm - 11pm. FLYER.

7th February : Ack Ack Ack + two others at The Hope, Brighton.

11th February : Yuchi + two others at The Hope, Brighton.
